pictures galore :)
We haven't had a lot of great shots to post lately. But, I have finally had the chance to upload them and we had some great photo ops.

Those are some baby blues.

When we went to Mississippi for my friend's wedding last weekend, we stopped by the house our family built when I was in first grade. We lived here for a few years and moved on. I loved this place. It had an awesome kitchen and back yard. Seeing it reminds me of so many great times! The house was originally "country blue" a popular color in the 80's!

Our sweet friend provided a great photo set up for the boys to pose in their costumes! We had a great time on this rainy day with our new friends. Cooper loves to point at airplanes, this one gets the double point!

The boys had fun we loved "Little E's" great skunk costume!

They are too cute!

Saying "NO!" to the kitty cat.

Anybody have suggestions on how to teach him how to be gentle with the kitties? We have tried lots of things and he just doesn't get it! Even letting the kitty give him a little bite or scratch doesn't do it. And our saying "No" does nothing! He just says "no" and gets the kitty even harder.

Dancing with daddy is apparently the most amazing thing ever, he loves it. Yeah, I mean Ben :)

Pointing at the kitty.

Enjoying the pretty red maple leaves in the front yard

Loves to find the baby :)

Ben being silly.

What I should be working on right now
So I'm working frantically today to get the November New Release Guide done here at work. It's a catalog that we print every month with all of our new CD/DVD releases. We moved last week and over that weekend, and it stunk doing that, but it also means that I'm about a week and a half behind schedule for my stuff.
Anyway, that's what I should be doing. Instead I will tell you about our weekend. We went to Brandon, Mississippi (very close to Jackson) for a wedding. Stacy's best friend from before she moved to Tennessee was the bride in question. The wedding was very nice if you like weddings, and I wish Hope and her new husband lots of good times.
But I want to talk about the trip a bit. We decided to try driving down the Natchez Trace parkway because it goes from Nashville straight through Jackson on its way to Natchez, MS. The Tennessee leg of the trip was just amazing. We had beautiful weather and the trees are just starting to change colors, but still mostly green. The Trace is manicured and clean and basically the perfect road, at least the Tennessee-maintained section. Smooth, pleasant curves; wide, grassy shoulders; minimal signage; pristine pavement. It's just the best. The only issue, really, is that you can only drive about 55mph or you'll probably find a cop. It's a long drive to go at such a speed, but we gave it a try. Turns out that our van will get 26 mpg instead of the usual 19 just by going 55 and never using the brakes. I sort of knew it would be better, but I think I was surprised just how much better it was. So that's a bonus. We stopped at a couple of scenic overlooks and a couple of not-so-scenic overlooks. And a nice creek next to the bathrooms. Really.
As we left TN and moved into Alabama, Coop took the opportunity to barf up his whole lunch all over himself and his car seat. Yum yum. Of course it was our fault for giving him food that had been kept at a questionable temperature for a while...That's why a little while later, he exploded out the other end.
Rough day for Coop's gastronomy, but a nice drive, while it lasted. When it gets dark, though, the Trace is just scary. It's an unlit, winding two lane road with no real shoulders and a high likelihood of wildlife. During the day we saw some deer and a cow on the side of the road (not together). No telling what we didn't see after the sun went down. Anyway, after Tupelo, we left the trace behind, discovered a nice little deli (Sweet Peppers) and got recharged.
Our hotel in Brandon, MS was sloped to one side. Or at least our room was. if you tried to fill the room with 6 inches of water, some of the room would have 10 inches and some would have 2. The door didn't line up with the door frame because the door itself was square. For just one night, it was funny. At least it didn't fall down on us.
Saturday morning we got up and hit the Cracker Barrel and then went to the wedding. Like I said before, the wedding was nice. We also drove around a little to look at Stacy's old school/house, etc.
We decided to take the interstate on the way home just because it would be dark on the Trace most of the way if we did that, and it would take too long. It's a shorter drive in miles, and we'd get much better gas mileage, so the Trace is certainly cheaper if you have the time. We didn't, really.
So I'm driving towards the interstate and I heard a clunk sound, and I decide to check it out before getting on the main road. Found out later that the noise I heard was probably a little bolt falling off of our gimpy front bumper, but when I got out of the car at the time, I immediately heard a little hissing noise coming from the rear tire. Great. A quick look at the tire shows that the valve stem is cracking open at the base, so we used a piece of ribbon from the wedding (thanks Hope!) and tied it to the rim while we looked around for a tire place that's open on Saturday afternoon. There aren't many at all. We eventually found one and got the valve stem replaced. Back on the road at only 6 PM! Yay.
We found another Sweet Peppers Deli and decided to eat there again. It was tasty again. So by then it was 8:00 or later. The remainder of the trip was uneventful as far as I remember. I drove quite fast for the old van, and we got to Nashville before 1:30. I'm still a bit tired.
OK, back to work. You should get back to work, too.
