Yay! The weekend is almost here again, seems like the weeks are flying by. I am very happy for this because I am getting concerned about the heat of the summer and the weeks not seeming so quick. I know at some point I'll be ready, really ready for the baby to come. Now, I am just enjoying our time together!
So, I can't view the movie Ben posted below on my computer. In fact I have not seen this movie at all! So, I am terribly sorry if you cannot view it, but we will hopefully have that fixed before Cooper's arrival.
Hope you all have a great weekend!

Our first video
Most of what we've recorded so far with the new camcorder has been at night. The camcorder does a good job at night for the price. I've uploaded a video of Allie and Tabasco from last night while they were playing around. Looks like I have another field to break in to. youtube video embedded below:

busy weekend
We got a lot done this weekend, I was glad to finally finish up the bead board and painting. I am amazed at how it looks, Ben did a fantastic job! I am so glad he wants to help make our nursery. It's a fun thing to do together. Here are some more photos from the room and how it looks now. There are some photos where you can see some of the accessories for the room, the lamp shade needs to be recovered, and the pictures hung, but we still need the furniture to do anything else. We ordered it, and it should come in this week or soon. Then we can put the final touches on everything. There are some fun photos of the pets, Molly was being a great helper and Allie as usual was into everything. Also, check out how big I am at 23 weeks! I can't believe that's me! There's a photo of his name again, I wanted a better one, so you could see everything. And there's a photo of the little rocker we bought for Cooper, I couldn't resist it, it's so cute. Then there is a photo of the glider we got from a church member, we love it, but it needed a little glue, and some screws tightened up, as you can see Allie is helping out there, too!

Baby Registry
Registering for baby gear is not nearly as fun as a wedding registry. Don't get me wrong, both of us have had a blast picking things out and researching various products for our baby. But, it seems like every thing from diapers to crib sheets makes you think of the huge responsibility this little one is about to bring into your life. Don't even get me started on car seats and baby monitors. I guess in a way this is a way to mentally prepare both parents for what they are about to be facing, at the same time it is daunting. I remember before we got pregnant, back when I dreamed about walking through the isles of Target pointing and clicking the little scanner, I couldn't wait for the day to come, it was so carefree then. When the day came for us to actually use the scanner thing at Target, it was just business. We had fun, but we were slightly annoyed at how little things jumped out at us as if to say, you have to have this. It really was difficult. Now, Ben would contend that the registry is full of things, hundreds I think. But, in reality it's only because I don't know what kind of baby wash I really want, so it will be nice to have a few to pick one when Cooper's first bath finally comes along. No, I am not trying to be cynical, just putting it strait. I thought it would be dreamy, nope, just practical and sort of tiring, both physically and emotionally. Hopefully this is not a precursor to parenthood, but in my estimation, I can only imagine that it must be. Anyway, now that you are thoroughly curious to see what treasures we put on our registry here are the links, we have more to add to both places, so it's only a start.

Lights, camera, action...
We bought a camcorder yesterday. It is being shipped to us, Ben is more than excited. And, I am well, not excited much at all. I like the idea of a new toy, and the prospect of having video of Cooper doing all kinds of baby things: cooing, rolling over, smiling, spitting up, etc. But, does anyone realize where Cooper is right now! He's inside me, that means, for the next ummm, 4 and a half or so months, I will be the subject of Ben's little movie adventures. And, they may be silent films considering both of us have complained about how much we hate our recorded voices. Personally, I think mine is much worse, I sound like a little kid, and that might be weird to hear the sound of a little kid talking about her new baby. I donno, I guess I'll work on my attitude.

More thoughts...
Just thought I'd give some insight on the photos now that they are up. The image of the name "Cooper" is just some 5x7 canvases I bought and painted his name on with little nautical shapes and animals to sort of reflect the beach house theme of the room. The next is an image of some of the front of the room, with the beadboard almost finished, some painting is all that's left to do there. Then there's a photo of me in the other corner, that big armoire is in the middle of the room now, but, it will be sort of centered on the side wall opposite the door when we get it all finished. The armoire will probably hold clothes, diapers, toys in the bottom and it has an area that would be great for a changing area. This was given to us from a friend who needed to get rid of it because he was moving, how generous! He probably never imagined it being used as a changing area! The last photo is the beadboard before it got the chair rail added, so it looks a bit unfinished. Hopefully that helps in understanding what's new!
Cooper's new room!
We are almost finished with the biggest project for the nursery, the painting and wainscotting. We are still not entirely sure why we chose to do this. We love the look of the bead board, and chair rail, and don't regret trying. But, MAN was this a big project, at least for Ben. And we are still not quite finished. I have been working on some other aspects of the room, fabric, lamps, pictures, etc. It has been fun. I can't wait till he gets here to see it all! And, yes we have considered the fact that for the first little while he will not even notice that his room is any different from the rest of the house! It is a learning experience for sure.

Almost 6 months
It is so hard to believe that I am nearly 6 months along. I actually thought that 21 weeks was 6 months along, until I got the actual figures from babycenter.com. They say at 23 weeks I'll be 6 months! Oh, well. I am having a hard time with math, what's new?
Last night we had huge storms, it was enough for us to cover our newly planted herbs and veggies, because we are expecting freezing conditions for the next few days! What! It's been in the 90's already, now back to freezing. I can't believe it! So our little seedlings were covered so they wouldn't get hammered by the fast falling rain, hail and strong wind blasts. I am thankful that we did, they look beautiful this morning.
Ben got to feel the baby kick for real last night for about the third time. It wasn't as solid of a kick as last time, but it was a nice break from the worry of the storm. He is getting jealous of all the time I get to spend with Cooper, because I feel kicks all day long without doing anything special. But, his time will come!

And we have a name, well sort of...
So, coming up with a name for this little one has been probably one of the hardest things so far. Harder than choosing paint color, and harder than naming our dog and cats. I'd say it lies somewhere between finishing college and morning sickness that lasts all day! It is really something that will last forever for our baby boy. And, we want him to like it as well as our friends and family.
We have decided on the name Cooper. I love the way it sounds, it just has a nice flow with Frey. It even sounds cool shortened to "Coop" which Ben and I are totally fine with. Several people have commented on how they know a little boy named Cooper and he is so cute, I wonder if that will go along with the name? Or maybe that will just be in his genes!
We still don't have a middle name, there are several options out there. I am really ok with all of them. I don't seem to mind as much as long as it goes along with the rest, Cooper Frey.
I spent the last week with my sister Jennifer in Texas. We had so much fun with their kids and Mom and Dad. Who will have their 8th and 9th grandkids this year! Jennifer is about a week ahead of me, she's due August 7. I wonder how these two little boys will time this? What if they are both born the same day! That would be some excitement! Jennifer looks great and the kids are getting so big! I know they are excited about having a new little brother, and they seemed happy to be getting a new cousin too!
I'll post a photo or two of the trip soon. I think we got one or two shots of me and Jen together.
