Day 1

well, it's not really day one of being home with Coop, it's just day one of being a "stay-at-home mom" officially. But it's really Cooper's 100th day here! He is big for only being here for 100 days. I can't believe it. Here is what 100 days of loving this little guy has taught me:

1. I say "no" to the dog and cats way too much
2. I love being in my PJs, especially when it's chilly out
3. Cooper loves me back.
4. I don't care that much about cleaning the bathrooms
5. I don't care that much about cleaning anything.
6. My dreams for making dinner every night for Ben to eat when he walks in the door may never be a reality.
7. I miss my friends at work.
8. I need some outside the house contact.
9. Playgroups are for the mommies.
10. Cloth diapering is really not that hard, at least not yet. Ask me again in a couple of months.
11. Just don't answer the door, ever.
12. My favorite thing to see ever, is my baby's smile.
13. I don't mind poopy diapers.
14. My heart can expand.
15. I don't like having pets nearly as much as I did before baby (sorry Allie, Asher, Molly and Tabasco)
16. It is still hard to fit in everything in a day even when you are home all day, but I don't stress about this, there is plenty of time for housework, and loving on my little one is the most important thing right now!
17. Everything my mom and sisters ever said about having kids is true, except that theirs are the cutest, mine is, period!

Have a good 100th day Cooper, you are loved.

My New Job

Well, it starts tomorrow - my new job. I will officially be a Stay-at-Home Mom. Until now my job has been such a huge part of who I am. I wouldn't say that it defines me, but rather it was part of me. I put all of my self into the design work that I did and I gave every page, cover, and project my all. I was thrilled to be doing work that was meaningful and contributing to the Kingdom of God. I was blessed.

My new job description is quite different. Now words like poop, buggers, and bathtime fill the house as we go about our day. I am no longer called to meetings, but diaper changes and feedings. There is no greater joy than being Cooper's mom. I am more than blessed to be here day in and day out with my little man.

Hopefully I will still be able to do some work to help with the bills a bit, but I feel this is the grandest time in my life, it officially begins tomorrow, mine and Cooper's big adventure!
